COVID-19 Antigen Test ( POCT) Nasal Swab

DESCRIPTION:

The Artron COVID-19 Test employs an antigen-capture immunochromatographic assay to identify the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein in nasal swab specimens. This process involves immobilizing specific SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and a control antibody onto a membrane support, creating two distinct lines known as the Test line (T) and Control line (C). These lines, in conjunction with a colloidal gold-monoclonal antibody against the SARS-CoV-2 antigen deposited on the conjugate pad, collectively constitute a comprehensive test strip.

During the test, as the swab sample migrates through the strip, the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein binds to the anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibody-gold conjugate, resulting in the formation of an immune complex. This complex is then captured by the test line on the nitrocellulose membrane as it progresses through the strip, leading to the emergence of a visible pink or purple line— a definitive indication of a positive result. In the absence of SARS-CoV-2 in the sample, no pink or purple line will manifest in the test line, signifying a negative result.

To ensure the test's internal reliability, a control band has been incorporated. This control line should consistently appear post-test completion. The absence of a control line in the designated region serves as a reliable indicator of an invalid result. This meticulous design enhances the accuracy of the test, providing users with a conclusive and dependable outcome.
